It's been a hot and sticky week here in room C4, not that I'm complaining. Temperature control is just one more reason we can't wait to get into that shiny new building!
Lots of testing was done this week. It is always an exciting time for me to give kids these end of the year assessments and see how much they've grown in third grade They have so many reasons to be proud!!! Our math unit on fractions will wrap up early next week. All Schoology activities should be completed by Tuesday (after Memorial Day). We will review the unit together and take a test HOPEFULLY by Thursday. That will be IT for math homework, by the way. You're welcome! Next week will be our final week for spelling and baggie books too. On June 3rd all iPads are to be turned in. Along with the devices, please return your child's charger and "brick." We are asking that you make certain the brick you return says "SLPS" on it. I have included a picture for clarification. Some upcoming important dates

Next week will be our last full week of school for third grade. It seems time really does fly when you're having fun!!!
This awesome third grade class has turned in all Jeffers Media Center books as of today. Thank you so much for your cooperation with this. It will make the move to a brand new library much easier for Mrs. Jobin! We will be taking the Discovery Education assessments next week. I am looking forward to seeing the results. They are used to determine the growth your child has made this year. Obviously all children learn at their own individual rate, so these assessments offer an opportunity to see where each child is now compared to where they began their third grade school year. Our class will be walking to the SLFAC again on Tuesday, May 23rd. Please remember to send your child to school with their swimsuit and towel that day. The last baggie books will go home on Friday, May 27th and are due back Friday, June 3rd. Here are some upcoming dates to mark on your calendars:
Thank you parents for all your follow through with our latest math unit. The kids have really increased their efforts as well (thanks to a little "encouraging" on our parts). Sometimes we all just need to be reminded that, even though it's May, there's still learning to do done!
The next math deadline your child has been asked to meet is finishing all activities through 7-1 by Monday, May 16th. Please let me know if you have questions about this digitally blended learning. Baggie books through the month of May. The last day to take home baggie books will be May 27th and the last day for AR testing of baggie books will be June 3rd. Until then, your child should continue to bring home 2 baggie books every Friday, read them throughout the week, and return them the following Friday. Our class will be walking to the Aquatic Center on May 17th and 23rd for swimming classes with Mrs. Bulthuis, our phys. ed. teacher. Please send your child to school that day with a swimsuit and towel. Here are some upcoming dates to keep in mind:
