I am hopeful that this coming week will wrap up our intensive study of non-fiction reading. You child should have been reading biographies for their at home reading this week. We will have a final celebration of all our hard work at the beginning of March, which believe it or not, begins one week from Tuesday.
Students will take a math test over unit 4 this coming week. If you are looking for ways to help them prepare, I would encourage you to do some adding and subtracting of three-digit numbers. Be sure to include problems with grouping and ungrouping (AKA carrying and borrowing). There are several apps on the student iPads that are helpful for this as well, including Moby Math, Splash Math, Prodigy, and Timed Test. This coming Wednesday there is an honors choir concert. All students in honors choir will be leaving Jeffers around 2:30 to head to the aquatic center for swimming and dinner, prior to their concert that evening. On Thursday we will be spending the morning at the TriCities Historical Museum in downtown Grand Haven. We should return in plenty of time for lunch, so no sack lunches are necessary. Thanks to the parents who will be able to chaperon that morning! You should also have received your child's scheduled appointment fore the upcoming parent-teacher conferences this week.
