Too bad the snow day had to fall on the same day as a field trip. Bummer!!! I will be in contact with the museum about rescheduling and will let you know as soon as I have that information.
Thank you moms, dads, grandparents, step-parents, and babysitters for helping your child remember to read and return baggie books. Our class AR average is 87%. Let's see if we can raise that average above 90%! I have also challenged the students to increase their non-fiction AR quizzes. Ideally, for every fiction book your child takes a quiz on they should take one on a NON-fiction book (in other words 50/50). Our class currently is at 75% fiction and 25% non-fiction. We started a new unit in math that will focus on solving story problems. I love helping the kids learn strategies to solve these real world math situations! Each of you should have received your parent-teacher conference time by now. I am looking forward to sharing your child's progress with you when we meet. Students will have Thursday and Friday afternoons off next week (March 3 & 4) in order to give teachers time to prepare for our adult time together. Finally, just a reminder that March starts on Tuesday and MARCH IS READING MONTH!!! Please look for information to come home about all the fun and exciting activities we have planned at Jeffers to celebrate our favorite hobby! Some important upcoming dates:
