It was great to see you all at conferences last week. Every child in my class was represented by a parent. Way to go! Thanks also to those dads who signed up to be Watch DOGS. If you are looking for more information about the program, click here or contact the Jeffers office.
Probably the biggest event from this week was our Reading Exchange day which took place on Wednesday. This happens every year during March is Reading Month. Students are split up and sent to 3 other classrooms where each teacher reads one of their favorite books to the kids. It is always a fun afternoon of reading and the kids always come back with new books and authors to add to their lists. Monday will be the last day you will receive a phone call with an Enormous Egg question. We do hope you enjoyed the book! On Wednesday of next week we will be watching a play about The Enormous Egg! We will finally be finishing up unit 4 in math this coming week. It is a long one (23 lessons!). That means there will be a unit test happening on Tuesday. Perfect timing considering our spring break the following week. We will also wrap up our non-fiction reading unit next week. Also ending next week will be what we currently see as the Jeffers playground area. Over spring break, the construction company will be moving in many trucks and trailers in preparation for the new building. As a celebration, we are having an ALL SCHOOL RECESS on April 2! Here were some of our learning goals for the week:
