Only one more week till Christmas break. Is your shopping done? How about baking? Wrapping? Socializing? Mine neither.
We are continuing to learn about measurement in math. Students are working with both standard and metric units of measuring length, mass, distance, and time. Thanks to Madeline's grandma ("Abuela") for coming in to help us with our measurement centers today! Next week we begin to study elapsed time, a tricky concept for many. We will wrap up our unit of studying literary characters next week. Students have been practicing empathizing with characters, anticipating their next moves, questioning why they make certain choices. It really makes for deeper understanding of literature. Reminder, baggie books are due back Tuesday the 15th. On Wednesday of next week, we will be live streaming our class over the internet. Students will be reading their final drafts of their personal narratives aloud. More details will be forthcoming, but for now please mark your calendars for December 16th at 2:30. We will be broadcasting live and need you to tune in. Spread the word to anyone you'd like! Finally please feel free to join us for our Christmas party Friday the 18th at 2:35. A special thank you to all the parents who have volunteered to help make our party fun and successful.
