And another adventure-filled week has come to a close in room A7. Here are some of the learning targets we focused on this week:
Next Friday is every elementary school teacher's favorite day of the year......Halloween! There will be lots of excitement building up to that day of all days. On Friday of next week, students are to come to school dressed in regular clothes. Prior to our costume parade at 2:00, students will have an opportunity to change into their Halloween costumes. Families are welcome to come watch the parade. If your child's costume requires extensive time and/or assistance to put on, it might be best to send to school only the minimum "stuff" necessary and save the elaborate details for trick or treating that evening. Or consider coming to the classroom and helping your child dress yourself. I will do my best to assist kids, but keep in mind there is only one of me and 24 of them. Our class party will take place after the parade wraps up (around 2:20). We will have a craft to put together and hopefully time for a game, as well as some yummy treats. Parents are welcome! I would appreciate it if you'd shoot me an email if you plan on coming to the party. Finally, as part of our Halloween celebration, we are going to walk to the aquatic center for some swimming on the morning of the 31st. We will be leaving Jeffers at 10:45 and plan on being back in time for lunch. I could still use some parent chaperons for that trip, but it is necessary that chaperons be willing to swim with the students too. Please let me know if you're interested. Dates to remember :
